CKI donated 100 PCs for kids from low-income families

SEOUL--(Korea Newswire)--Citibank Korea (CEO Ha, Yung-gu, www.citibank.co.kr) said CKI donated 100 sets of PCs to the Federation of Korean Industries (FKI) for kids from low-income families at Incheon Data Center on Apr. 15. The ‘Dream-Up PC Donation Campaign’ led by FKI is one of the projects aimed at fulfilling corporate social responsibilities based on the resolution adopted at the FKI Executive Meeting in March, 2008. Under this initiative, FKI collects used desktop computers from membership companies and deliver them to the childcare center for low-income families in the community.

CKI said the company decided to join this meaningful campaign in the hopes that children in the low-income bracket who were denied appropriate access to learning and cultural experiences could have fair opportunities for online learning and overcome the sense of deprivation. The delivered computers are Pentium 4 (3.0 GHz) and Windows XP was installed to help the students use them more conveniently.
