WONJU--(Korea Newswire)--Saline maker manufacturer Dolki Korea Ltd. (CEO Chil-Young Kim, www.salicid.com) developed Sali-One, the portable contact lens sterilizer with increased sterilization efficacy of various bacteria and protein removal in shortest timespan.

While the protein removal efficacy of the multi-purpose solution leading the contact lens sterilization market is only 10~40% at most, Sali-One raises it to 100% to reduce the bacterial infection and increase the wearing time and improve the wearing comfort of the lens.

Especially, Sali-One has been recognized for its outstanding sterilization action with clinical tests against acanthamoeba keratitis which is most fatal to lens-wearers.

An associate of Dolki Korea Ltd. said that “one to two of the acanthamoeba patients reported to be up to 20 among 1 million lens-wearers are losing their sight. Most multi-purpose solutions have weaker sterilization capacity and thus are not actively publicizing about the acanthamoeba keratitis to the consumers.”

In the experiment regarding acanthamoeba, bacteria, and fungus by U.S. Microbiotest, this product has exhibited over 99.9% of sterilization capacity, and its sterilization action has also been domestically recognized to win the Korea Invention Patent Exhibition held this year. Also, it is in the process of approval for medical equipment by Korea FDA.

The existing multi-purpose solution took a lot of time due to complicated cleaning/sterilization process through lens storage cases, and the bacterial pollution occurred through this process and such contact lens had to be worn all day.

Sali-One, however, removed the concern for bacterial infection through lens storage cases with cheap management cost of around 1,500 KRW a month, and the sterilization is completed just by pressing the button and waiting for 7 minutes so that the contact lens can be put on and off anytime, in turn reducing the fatigue of the eyes.

In the meantime, having developed Salicid, the first saline maker in the world that can adjust hypochlorous acid concentration by electrolysis, Korea Dolki is domestically selling the product for nose cleaning purposes to sinus infection patients.
